Van Metre Companies is more than a homebuilder; we acquire land and plan and develop entire communities. We create hometowns.

STONE RIDGE

In 2001, Van Metre purchased 800 acres of property located along the Route 50 corridor in Loudoun County. On that land, we created the master planned community known as Stone Ridge. Stone Ridge will be home to over 3,000 homes and apartments, 125,000 square feet of retail anchored by Harris Teeter, over 580,000 square feet of office and commercial development, a 42,000 square foot HealthSouth rehabilitation hospital, a 40,000 square foot county Library, Mercer Middle School, Arcola Elementary school, Minnieland Daycare, three pool facilities, four miles of walking/hiking trails and more.

In addition to Stone Ridge, Van Metre purchased 123 acres located directly north of Route 50 known as Glascock Field at Stone Ridge. A major portion of this property has been rezoned for up to 1,310,000 sf of office and commercial (PD–OP), 276 multi–family units (R–16), a 4 acre parcel for a new Capital Hospice administration building and in–patient hospice facility with two helipads to serve the office and commercial components. A 14–acre parcel in the northwesterly portion of Glascock Field at Stone Ridge remains zoned PD–GI.

BROADLANDS

In the mid–80's, Van Metre purchased over 1700 acres which would become the master planned community of Broadlands. After acquiring the entitlements, this award–winning project was developed for 3,500 homes, 3,300 of which have settled. We continue to build the remaining single-family homes in Broadlands. We also designed, constructed, leased, manage and own the 113,000 square foot Broadlands Marketplace retail center, as well as the 292 unit Broadlands apartments. We own over 125 acres of additional commercial land adjoining the Dulles Greenway.

LANSDOWNE

In 2000, Van Metre partnered with Centex, Beazer and Laing and purchased 850 acres between Leesburg Pike and the Potomac River in Lansdowne, Virginia. In 2005, the last of the 2,200 units was sold and settled. Three of the original four partners continue in the development of the Lansdowne Town Center. This mixed– use urban–styled project includes 500 townhomes and condominium units and 190,000 square feet of commercial/retail space.
