03/23/2013 - 21st Annual Van Metre 5 Mile Run for Children's National Medical Center
The 21st Annual Van Metre 5-Mile Run and One-Mile Fun Run/Walk benefits Children’s National Medical Center. Serious runners, weekend and occasional joggers, walkers, and even strollers (for One-Mile Fun Run/Walk only) of all skill levels are invited to participate. The ChronoTrack race timing system and the disposable D-tag will be used this year.

10/31/2012 - Washington Gas Partnership Award
Van Metre is a prominate developer and homebuilder in Virginia. They have a large presence in Loudoun County. One of their many communities in Loudoun is Marwood. This project will yield 98 single family homes and is located at the western edge of our existing facilities.

Washington Gas has two regulator stations located in our western serve territory. There was a need to install transmission line so that we could connect the two systems together. Van Metre generously granted us an easement in which we install 1,850 feet of transmission pipe to tie these two systems together. As a result, Washington Gas has a back feed to ensure service reliability and accommodate future growth.

This collaboration resulted in expediting necessary transmission pipe and minimizing the capital expense to Washington Gas. Both existing and future Customers will benefit from this partnership.
