VAN METRE CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW
FAIRFAX SQUARE RECREATION FACILITY
Local Leaders Cut Ribbon to New 5,000-Square-Foot Facility
BURKE, VIRGINIA - Van Metre Companies officially opened its new recreation facility at its Fairfax Square Apartments with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that took place in conjunction with Van Metre's 50th anniversary celebration at the new facility on June 16. Fairfax City Councilmembers Joan Cross, Jeff Greenfield, Gary Rasmussen, R. Scott Silverthorne and Patrice Winter, as well as former Fairfax City Mayor John Mason, took part in the ceremony with Al Van Metre, Sr., Chairman, CEO and Director of Van Metre Companies.
The new 5,000-square-foot facility features a 24-hour fitness center and business center, a swimming pool, children's wading pool and a "pub" room for the residents to gather with friends to play a game of cards or enjoy a show on the large plasma screen TV.
"Fairfax Square was the first apartment community we built over 40 years ago," stated Al Van Metre, Sr. "I am particularly proud of this community and the new recreation facility is spectacular. The residents have found it to be a welcoming gathering place."
Located on Main Street in the City of Fairfax, Fairfax Square consists of 500 homes and features a variety of rental housing types from one, two and three-bedroom apartments to two-story, three-bedroom townhomes. In addition to the new clubhouse, the townhomes have been recently renovated.
