STONE RIDGE RESIDENTS CELEBRATE VILLAGE CENTER GRAND OPENING
Local Dignitaries Participate in Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
STONE RIDGE, VIRGINIA -Van Metre Companies' Stone Ridge community celebrated their Village Center's Grand Opening, located at the corner of Route 50 and Stone Springs Boulevard, on October 29, 2005 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and Halloween festivities. The new Village Center provides much anticipated retail stores and community services to Stone Ridge and surrounding communities. The center is anchored by a Harris Teeter grocery store and it also includes Bank of America, Glory Days Grill and The Daily Grind. In addition, Walgreens, Wendy's and 7-Eleven will be opening in the next year.
"We are excited about the opening of this community-serving center," said Al Van Metre, Sr., Chairman, CEO and Director of Van Metre Companies. "The Stone Ridge Village Center enhances the amenities of Stone Ridge, making it a true community for its residents and the surrounding neighborhoods."
The day's activities began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Supervisor Stephen Snow, Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio, Planning Commissioner Larry Beerman and Al Van Metre, Sr., celebrating the grand opening of the center. In addition to store specials, the Village Center Grand Opening hosted a costume contest, trick-or-treating and hay rides for the community.
Just west of Dulles Airport along Route 50, six miles west of Chantilly and five miles east of Gilbert's Corner, Stone Ridge is Van Metre's newest planned community. Stone Ridge is situated on 800 acres and will consist of nearly 2,500 units upon completion. Its other amenities include an amphitheater, two first-class clubhouses, a community-wide trail system and two parks.
